Voice-over-Internet Protocol, or VoIP, has been changing telecommunications around the globe - it has become clear that VoIP services are rapidly altering the manner and form of telecommunications. This paper discusses a series of critical business, technical and operations questions that service providers should consider before embarking on the provision of VoIP services. This includes how best to maintain a practical balance between areas requiring investment and the associated return-on-investment (ROI).
