A 3D model of a housing estate was created with details including bodies of buildings, as well as with the distinguished structure of roofs (LoD2). The research works were being conducted in the residential district of Torun called Wrzosy, situated in the northern part of the city and surrounded by forests. This residential district with the area of ca. 3.8 km2 is inhabited by over 20 thousand residents and constitutes one of the largest housing estates in Poland with a typical building development of single-family houses. The aim of this paper was a three-dimensional visualization of the residential district Wrzosy in Torun together with the analysis of spatial development during three periods (until 1975, 1975-1998, 1998-2005) based on the remote-sensing data. For visualization and analysis, stereoscopic panchromatic and colour aerial photographs were used, which were taken during three flight passes. For each of these states, a three-dimensional model of the building development was created with the assumed accuracy of LoD2. These models were prepared using the digital photogrammetric workstation DEPHOS. A geodetic GPS receiver was used for absolute orientation of stereograms and the software City Walker - for animation. The developed 3D model of the residential district in Torun was enriched with the existing road network.
