Low temperature scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy on Bi_(2)Sr_(1.6)Nd_(0.4)CuO_(y) (T_(c)velence26.5 K) at 4.2 K, reveals the existence of a region with locally enhanced zero bias conductance whose radius is about 10 A. This enhancement is due to an additional state appears at the energy around -5meV. It is thought that this local enhancement of ZBC arises from an impurity or a defect in the CuO plane.
