THE RESULTS OF COMPARATIVE TESTS OF SPIROMETERS

The author analyses the results obtained during measurements concerning serially connected spirometers (standard and tested ones) into a source of signal. Comparative tests show that the conversion coefficient (kappa)_(x) between the results obtained from both instruments differs, depending on the basis of its definition: one litre volume, maximum expired volume FVC or volume expired after one second at forced expiration FEV_(1). These differences can be a basis for quick identification of sources of divergences in the measuring results given by spirometers.
