There are few studies in continuously published papers that aim to find general relations between different substances and their influence on final particle properties such as size. The objective of this work is to characterise the influence of the slope of the solubility line for highly soluble substances in view of the maximum obtainable median particle size within industrial crystallization. Pseudo-polymorphs seem to be ideal candidates to study this objective. This paper will show how the heat of solution and hence the slope of solubility line can be linked to the maximum achievable median particle size. This knowledge will help in the selection of the appropriate solvent and crystallizer for future crystallization processes.
