Recently, anisotropic plates made of fiber reinforced composite materials have been used for many applications. Usually, anisotropic plates are analyzed by classical anisotropic plate theory based on Kirchhoff-Love's hypothesis. But it desirable that they be analyzed by shear deformation plate theory. There are many anisotropic plates having weak shear rigidity, and they generate considerable shear deformation accompanied by flexural deformation. In this study, the dynamic equations of polar anisotropic circular plates are formulated based on Ambartsumyan's plate theory that is notable among the shear deformation plate theories. The governing equations to analyze natural vibration of transversely isotropic circular plates, annular plates and sector plates , are deduced from those dynamic equations. Natural frequencies and natural modes of those plates are calculated by analysis of their governing equations. The influence of considering shear deformation is examined concretely according to the comparisons of these results and classical values.
