Ictal SPET in Presurgical Diagnosis of the Epilepsies

The presurgical diagnosis of the Epilepsies is aimed to delimitate the border of the epileptogenic zone in order to define the topography of the epileptogenic areas to be removed.A correlation between the epileptic seizures and the anatomical substrate where the seizure itself originates, is needed.The hypo-hyperperfusion pattern of the SPET, recorded during the interictal and the ictal phases, has partially combined both the anatomic and dynamic aspects of the information required to perform ablative Epilepsy Surgery.
