摘要

Web technologies are gaining increased importance in automation and control systems, especially for information access in maintenance. However, it is important not to focus on the technology aspects, but to define requirements from the application perspectives. The paper discusses requirements within the focus of maintenance, and presents appropriate structures for a Web portal for maintenance purposes. It is based on a content model, describing the relations between topologi-cal and functional entities of the application system and the web technologies used. This hierarchical description model is defined in XML. The structure of this model is described and the use of description information for the realization of different functionality is shown. Special attention is paid to the security features of the solution. This requires specific description elements, ensuring access to description elements is limited to functional roles or user personalization. Different implementation aspects, and experiences derived from prototype implementations will be discussed. Finally, conclusions and an outlook for future developments are given.
