the paper considers plain non-stationary contact problems for perfectly rigid die translating into an elastic half-space. As a general case, the boundary of the contact area is assumed to be moving one. The method of functionally invariant solutions is used as a tool of analytic solution and study of distribution of contact stresses. The authors found and studied the analytic solution of the problems of indentation with rectangular, conical and parabolic dies.
