In order to ensure safety & reliability, it is necessary to predict the behavior of the cracks under the application of various type of loading conditions. It is very important to know how strong the cracked structure is. A problem of laminated composite infinite plate with a hole with the single or double crack emanating from it under the different type of loading conditions is solved using mushkhellisvili's complex variable method. The loading condition considered here is solved includes uniaxial, biaxial or shear loading at infinity or bending & twisting at infinity. The generalized solution for the Problem hole subjected to the internal pressure is also obtained. The effect of the hole size, crack length, crack orientation & anisotropy on stress intensity factor (SIF) is studied. The stress analysis of infinite orthotropic plate with two holes with two cracks emanating from them, subjected to different type of loading, is studied using mushkhellisvili's complex variables method & Schwartz alternating method. The generalized solution obtained, are coded in MATLAB 6.5 & interaction effect between the two cracks opened is studied, the effect of centre distance, Crack orientation, crack length, loading factor & fiber orientation on the stress intensity factor is highlighted, Though the formulation is for anisotropic media, it can take care of isotropic case also. For some cases Plane stress crack model are prepared in ANSYS & SIF are calculated. The results are in close conformation with the present method.
