It is a case report about a patient with a cemento-ossifying fibroma, a benign slow-growing tumor with causes few symptoms. However, because of its location in the mandible and the possibility of reaching large dimensions, this growth may require complex treatment, with serious sequelae if not approached early. Thus, we wish to alert specialists who attend these patients. The cemento-ossifying fibroma commonly affects adults between the third and fourth decade of life, although it occurs in a wide intervals of ages. Predilection is on the mandible and in the feminine sex. Because of the insidious development of this disease, the patients wait a long time before seeking treatment and, when they do, they first consult a general clinician or even a dentist before they see a crani-omaxillofacial surgeon.
