Multi-wavelength observations of a coronal mass ejection are presented: they comprise H{sub}α and EUV observations of an erupting prominence, metre wave radio images of moving type IV sources, and coronographic observations. Some elements of a preliminary interpretation are discussed. The height-time diagrams of the different features suggest common dynamics of the ejecta with significant acceleration at low coronal heights (heliocentric distance <1.5 R{sub}{sun}) and subsequent rise at constant speed. The radio emission starts 10 minutes before the appearance of rapidly outward moving sources: since the early rise of the H{sub}α prominence radio emission from non thermal electrons is observed well above the prominence. The location and timing of this early emission may be evidence for the breakout model, where the radio emitting electrons are accelerated in a current sheet between the erupting structure and overlying magnetic fields.
