Human perception of IAQ "problems" has created significant interest. Psychological influences on perception of IAQ are well known. Human sensitivity to IAQ contaminates has resulted in cutaneous and respiratory track ailments. Cacosmics reporting odour from low concentration of chemicals exacerbate SBS concerns. In an IAQ study of a high-rise building in Hong Kong, physical IAQ parameters temperature, relative humidity, carbon dioxide] are sampled and results are plotted. Chemical samples [carbon dioxide, nitrogen dioxide and formaldehyde] are obtained and results indicate acceptable IAQ based on local and international guidelines.However, common complaints of poor IAQ because of"stuffy air", and "odour" from un-identified sources have been recorded ever since initial occupancy. From walkthrough inspection, over 72 hours of data logging, and study of pollution pathway, source ofodour was traced to poorly designed AHU drain-traps. Alteration work was carried out, and a follow-up survey was performed. Results are compared and reported.
