摘要

The present paper deals with modelling and nonlinear finite element analysis of structures subjected to cyclic impulsive loading conditions leading to elastic-viscoplastic vibrations. In particular, the focus of the paper is on the development of an appropriate mechanical model to predict the anisotropic damage evolution and final failure of impulsively loaded structures. In order to validate the approach, experimental investigations of thin plates subjected to impulsive loadings are carried out by means of shock tubes.
