Using Curvature for Hand Recognition

摘要

Curvature is an important characteristic of space curves. In this paper, we propose a peg-free hand geometry identification system, which is inexpensive to implement. The main idea behind this system is to extract and construct the curvature waveform of the hand contour points to form a unique set. While computing the differences between a sample of curvature waveform and those standard patterns in the database, the system can be used to verify/identify persons.
