Conventional design and analysis of gun system involve three assumptions, and in fact, it is a static analysis method. With establishing dynamic model of gun system, we systematically studied the effects of structural design parameters on firing stability. An improved expression of sensitivity analysis is provided, and the important degrees of factors with different dimensions that affect firing stability of gun are compared. Furthermore, a set of matched structure parameters to meet the optimal design are obtained by means of GRG method. Finally, the application perspective of virtual prototyping technology and the strong emphasis of next research are presented.
