Control Strategy Formation: An Overview

Control strategy design is a complex procedure which relates to many aspects such as modeling, architecture selection, simulation, parameter tuning, optimization and implementation etc. Here the definition of Control Strategy Formation (CSF) is proposed. As the control strategy design underlying theory, CSF develops with the control theory, mathematics, artificial intelligence and computer engineering. Now many aspects of CSF achieve analytical basis and records of successful applications. The intent of this document is to 1) bring forth the concept of CSF, 2) provide a brief overview of the state-of-the-art in control strategy formation along with different directions, and 3) give the prospect of CSF research.
