Construction of stability charts is presented to support the design of position and force controlled mechanical systems involving time delay. The combination of the methods of constructing the classical stability charts for second order systems with constant time delay and with time-periodic coefficients is based on the infinite dimensional version of Floquet Theory. The analytical approach also serves a new numerical technique called semi-descretization.
