In this work we present a model for the analysis of the convection at a vertical flat plate embedded in a saturated porous medium, where the temperature of the plate is defined by an imposed temperature The computational aspects are presented in the context of a lumped-parameter model for the flow. The nonlinearities generated by the temperature variation are included in our study. The governing equations of the phenomenon that are partial derivative equations are transformed in ordinary differential equations by using the similarity method. Similarity solutions can be obtained by solving the simplified models based on Prandtl boundary layer equations.
