PROEFFICIENCY - VIABLE SOLUTION FOR ENERGY CONSUMPTION DECREASING IN RESIDENTIAL AND TERTIARY SECTOR

"PRO-EFFICIENT COLD & LIGHTING PRODUCTS - PROEFFICIENCY" is an Intelligent Energy - Europe project coordinated by ESCAN SA Spain. The project partners are ESV - Austria, GERTEC - Germany, ISPE - Romania, KAPE - Poland, and SWEA - UK PROEFFICIENCY project aims to promote pilot promoters' initiatives and pilot consumers' projects/actions for the most eco-energy efficient products. The pilot promoters' initiatives are carried out in the six partners' countries with different target groups and with the same objectives promote pro-efficient cold and lighting products for residential and tertiary sectors. The project is focused on the implementation of pilot initiatives with product promoters and groups of product consumers and will monitor the effectiveness of the initiatives and actions developed during the project. Specific objectives of the project are the followings: 1 to stimulate the promotion of the most energy-efficient products amongst producers and retailers of cold and lighting goods through voluntary initiatives; 2 to accelerate market transformation towards more energy-efficient products, through the implementation of pilot consumer action plans; 3 to monitor the effectiveness of the development initiatives/actions; 4 to give special visibility to successful initiatives/actions, to motivate organizations to be in the forefront of the market. PROEFFICIENCY Project incorporates an important promotion programme oriented to "pilot promoters' initiatives" and "pilot consumers' projects/actions"(incorporating European/Local/Regional actors (Manufactures, Importers, Retailers, Energy Agencies, Municipalities, Residents Associations, others). With such activities, the Project intends to contribute in the medium and long term with the EU energy objectives: decreasing the energy consumption and energy supply dependence. This project was presented at the Regional Energy Forum FOREN 2008 - Neptun, Romania and it won the third prize at the Energy policy and generation section.
