On the basis of the establishing of the linear daily flow routing model for the lower Yellow River, routing factors are solved by means of the linear least square optimization method. By using the least square method, VB and MATLAB languages, the low flow routing factor optimization model is developed. Flow routing factors are optimized and rated with historical observed data, showing the characteristics of convenient operation and including figures and tables. Examples show that the low flow routing model and routing factor optimization model are reasonable and reliable with high accuracy of low flow routing, basically satisfactory to dispatching of low flows on the lower Yellow River.
