In injection molding, many factors affect the molding process and the final quality of the products. The production problems on materials properties, design of products, and design of molds can be solved with the help of CAE systems to improve the part quality, but it is still relied on the experience of the operator concerning the process setup and parts quality control. In this paper, the novel approach that apply CAE results into process optimization and part quality control has been investigated for controlling the injection process and part quality automatically. The objective is to develop a scientific method for on-line process control using CAE results. A Closed-loop part quality control system was developed, and the relationship model of part quality index and process conditions was built by ANN technique based on the CAE results, and the process conditions are optimized by hybrid GAs/grads-descend, The control theory and strategy were studied based on numerical simulation, and the closed-loop part quality control is implemented on MATLAB platform based on numerical simulation of plastic injection molding.
