This paper focus on the concept of flexible manufacturing highlightening its advantages and new possibilities through laser-sintering technologies. Several examples are used to illustrate the concept e-Manufacturing™, which means fast, flexible and cost-effective production of high-quality products directly from electronic data, is since a long time a common term on the RP and RM market. Laser-sintering technologies allow you to implement your development-/ manufacturing ideas better and completely different in every phase of the product life cycle than by using conventional technologies. Flexible manufacturing concepts and new business models are getting more and more of importance. Like mass customization which is meanwhile often used in the medical-, dental- and fashion industry.
