Application of Aqueous Cathode Binder for Lithium Ion Battery - (PPT)

A new aqueous cathode hinder has been developed in response to market demand for an aqueous electrode manufacturing process which is environmentally-friendly, easy to handle and cost-saving compared to NMP The performance of this new binder was tested by applying it to various cathode materials, LiFePO_4, LiCoO_2, U(NiMnCo)O_2, and Mn_2O_4. in many aspects, the results were superior to those obtained by the conventional NMP-base binder. Herein, the results will be described including slurry preparation, electrode properties, and cell performance using our new aqueous binder. The key process parameters of our new binder system will also be reported.
