Collection and Classification of Expired Medications Program of Monterrey's Metropolitan Area

Expired medications are a very important amount of daily collected waste. They come from hospitals, pharmacies, industry and even from homes. At the present time, federal law is not fulfilled due to the fact that unused expired medications or drugs are disposed of incorrectly either in trash cans, vacant lots or in toilets. This promotes important health and environmental problems. Implementation and adequate follow up of the project "Empty your medication cabinet" may be useful to environmental care as well as increase quality of life in the community.
