The Electricity Industry Safety Rules - July 2004 - Background Principles

The July 2004 issue of the electricity industry safety rules will have been released at the time of the EEA Conference, and are due to be implemented on the 1st July. During the preparation of the rules there was background discussion on a number of key issues, which were relevant to the final wording of the rules. An explanation of the background deliberation can assist in understanding the intent of the rule, and its ongoing development. This paper will identify a sample of those key issues and explain their background and information relevant to the interpretation of them. Some rules also have an identified development phase, and this has been relevant in the selection of current wording.
