THE LATEST SPACE BASIC PLAN IN JAPAN -ITS FEATURES AND IMPLICATION

The latest Basic Plan on Space Policy (hereinafter Space Basic Plan) was established by Strategic Headquarters for Space Policy in January 2015. This latest Space Basic Plan pays much attention to the security related outer space activities than the previous 2 Basic Plans of 2009 and 2013. It is thought to reflect some of the contents in National Security Strategy of December 2013. There are three pillars on security in this latest Basic Plan. Those are (1) safety of outer space, (2) security by outer space and (3) space international cooperation.
