Duke Energy Field Service's Roggen Gas Plant is a 58 MMSCFD, three-train cryogenic liquids recovery plant. Over the past few years, all three trains were extensively rebuilt and modified to meet new operating conditions. After the start-up of the largest of these trains, DEFS experienced problems with inlet dehydration and trace sulfur contamination of the train's products, due in part to the initial plant design. This paper describes these problems and the steps taken to modify the plant and to remedy the problems. The steps include additional inlet conditioning, molecular sieve regeneration system modifications and dry bed sulfur removal.
