Almost all natural gas requires some sort of treatment prior to the delivery of the gas for use. In some cases, this includes the removal of acid gas compounds such as H2S and CO2, but in almost all cases, it requires the dehydration of the gas to remove excess water to meet pipeline specifications or downstream requirements. Over the years, the bulk of this dehydration has been accomplished with either glycol or adsorption media. As we are always looking for ways to improve the efficiency of the dehydration process, numerous developments have been tested and proposed. This section will review some of these developments over the last 15 years.
