Desmitis of the collateral ligaments (CLs) of the distal interphalangeal (DIP) joint is a cause of foot lameness. In some horses, diagnosis can be achieved using ultrasonography; however, in many horses, magnetic resonance imaging is required for definitive diagnosis.
