Incisor and Molar Occlusion: Normal Ranges and Indications for Incisor Reduction

Measurement of excursion to molar contact and determination of cheek occlusal angle will enable the practitioner to evaluate incisor occlusion and determine when and how much incisor reduction is needed. The purpose of incisor examination and correction of malocclusions is to maintain lateral excursion to molar contact within normal limits and to maintain normal shape of incisor arcades.
