Methods used to detect subclinical mastitis include direct microbiological analysis of quarter or composite milk samples and measurement of somatic cells (SCC) in milk through either direct or indirect methods. The objective of this study was to compare test characteristics of detection methods for subclinical mastitis using multiple milk samples from lactating dairy cows.
