The application of Lean principles at Warner Robins Air Logistics Center (WR-ALC), Robins AFB, GA began to take shape in 2000 as the ALC's production-oriented business areas sought to becomemore efficient and competitive. In early 2002, the Space and Special Systems Directorate (WR-ALC/LK) became the first administrative area to adopt Lean techniques for process improvement. Following a brief description of Lean techniques and principles, this paper describes the successes, failures, and lessons learned from the first year of Lean in LK.
