For energetic material 1,2-dinitroguanidine (DNG) the critical pressure of excit ation of explosion is measured on failing weight apparatus on high limit of the curve freguency of explosion at optimum depth of a layer of the explosive (h ≥ h_(cr)). The power and explosive characteristics DNG (density, enthalpy of form a-tion, speed of detonation, critical pressure of initiation, critical depth of a deton a-tion layer of energetic material) are experimentally determined and compared to the RDX. Speeds of detonation DNG in mixtures with graphite (0/10%) for grain diameters of 40 mm are investigated. The conclusion about the perspective of use of the DNG instead of the RDX is made.
