摘要

We have been developing mitochondriotropic cationic vesicles prepared from quinolinium derivatives for the delivery of drugs and DNA to mitochondria in mammalian cells. Here we present data demonstrating that these vesicles almost exclusively transport pDNA to the site of mitochondria in living cells in stark contrast to conventional cationic liposome based formulations that transport pDNA to the immediate periphery of the cell nucleus.
