摘要

The molar mass analysis of anionic methacrylate copolymers is, up to now, mainly conducted by solution viscometry. In size exclusion chromatography (SEC) severe problems are encountered due to unwanted specific interactions of the polymer sample with the SEC stationary phase. The present paper presents a robust method for the determination of the molar mass distribution of such copolymers. Using a GRAM column and N,Ndimethyl acetamide (DMAC) modified with LiBr and acetic acid as the mobile phase, reproducible molar mass data are obtained that compare well with viscometry data.
