This paper presents an experimental study of the resistance welding process performed with metal mesh heating element. The focus of the investigation was on the main welding parameters. The influence of the welding pressure, power and energy input were investigated. The quality of the bond was evaluated by using mechanical testing and microscopic scanning. The lap shear strengths from the mechanical testing were correlated with the microscopic photographs. Finally, an optimal processing window for a metal mesh heating element was established.
