Increase of the RH degassing capacity at Sidmar and Stahlwerke Bremen

At Sidmar and SwB, factors that limit(ed) the RH degassing capacity is (were): Number and duration of maintenance interventions of the RH legs; between heats within the same sequence or between sequences. Short service life of the legs (120-130 heats); limited by the lifetime of the refractory lining (both outside and inside). Downtime due to replacement of the lower and/or middle vessels; Insufficient reliability of service; mainly hampered by mechanical problems with the oxygen blowing (OB) lance (Sidmar) and the addition system.
