The NDT techniques of welded joints the most used in these cases are radiography and the ultrasounds. In this article we were interested in the non destructive testing of joints welded out of stainless steel used regularly for certification of levels I and II NDT operators. These parts contain the most current defects like the cracks, the lacks of fusion which are harmful defects and inclusions which in general are tolerated until a certain concentration. The ultrasonic inspection was carry out by two methods per contact and in immersion by using transducers of different frequencies. These tests showed that the results on the detection and the dimensioning of certain defects can be influenced by changing the testing method or simply by modifying one or more parameters of control. This can have serious consequences on the result of a control. The samples controlled by ultrasounds were controlled by radioscopy for confirmation and comparison.
