Characterization of bacteriophages infecting Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae to use as a biocontrol agent

Bacterial leaf blight (BLB), caused by Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae, is one of the most important bacterial diseases of rice worldwide. Although it can be controlled to a certain extent by agrochemicals, these chemicals have not always been effective, so alternative control measures are sought to improve control efficacy. Characteristics of X. o. pv. oryzaeinfecting bacteriophages were studied in order to assess their potential as biocontrol agents.
