In recent years various methods for the damage detection of large space structures have appeared. This paper presents a comparison of three of theses approaches. The first one is the Mode Shape Curvature Method, which uses the difference of the pre-damage and post-damage curvature mode shapes to locate the damage position. The second is the Minimum Rank Update Method, which uses the change of the eigenstructure for damage detection. The third is the Transfer Function Parameter Change Method, which uses the changes of the transfer function parameters to locate the damage position. From the time domain input/output data, the system identification algorithm OKID is used to process the response data to obtain the identified parameters for comparison.
