In [9] the authors proposed two methods using modal informations to update damped F.E. models characterised by symmetric matrices. The first one - the Sensitivity Method - is based on the linearisation of an error function constituted from the difference between the experimental modal data and the analytical ones whereas the second one-the Error in Constitutive Relation Method - minimises some energy errors. In this paper, these two methods are extended to the case of models with non symmetric matrices. We also propose a way to improve the defects localisation and the updating capability of an extension of the Error in Constitutive Relation Method on specified elements. After this theoretical study we evaluate the two methods on a two-bearing rotor system.
