The effects of secondary stresses in lattice girders have been investigated in a parametric study. In this study, four parameters are varied: the depth of the girder, the brace angle _, the diameter ratio _ and the chord diameter to thickness ra tio 2_. The investigated girders with a span of 56 meter are derived from the recently built railway bridge near Oosterbeek, The Netherlands. Various finite element models are used, i.e. four beam models and one shell element model. Conclusions are drawn as to which model describes the structural behaviour best. With the results of the parametric study, fatigue calculations of the uniplanar K-joints are made.
