In this paper we develop several models for calculating the interaction of large ocean waves with a thin sea-ice floe. The governing equations for this system include several nonlinear terms, occurring in both the fluid equations and nonlinear plate models for the floe, which cannot be neglected (as they would be for small amplitude waves). Solutions for these equations are found using a perturbation expansion, each component of which is solved inductively using a matching method. Numerical results are presented for the first and second order components, and the range of validity of the first order (linear) theory is discussed.
