APPLICATION OF A MULTIPURPOSE DATA SYSTEM TO MCDONNELL DOUGLAS MD-90 COMMERCIAL AIRCRAFT GVT

A multipurpose data acquisition and processing system was developed at Douglas Aircraft Company's (DAC) Long Beach facility for various types of dynamic testing. This data system was applied to a full scale Ground Vibration Test (GVT) of the MD-90 twin-jet commercial aircraft Both random and sine modal surveys were conducted for the full aircraft and individual components during the GVT. The capabilities and operation of the data system for the test are discussed in this paper. Sample intermediate checkout data as well as final test results are presented.
