The increasing sophistication of Information Technology Equipment (IT) and automated industrial systems and their increased performance levels, require constant and high quality electrical power supply. But electrical energy has disturbances (transients, sags/brownouts, frequency variations, blackouts) which remain frequent because it isn't technically feasible to eliminate them completely.
