CAx information integration based on the standard of STEP is an extremely important key technology in the field of concurrent engineering research and plays significant role in promoting the development of information integration technology. In this paper, a new information integration approach based on STEP AP214 is presented, the approach consists of three steps, the first step is to construct the feature information models in EXPRESS according to AP214, then translate the EXPRESS information models into C++ structure classes by EXPRESS2C++ tool of ST_Developer, finally, convert the data of feature models into ROSE physical file. Moreover, an integrated system implementation architecture is put forward. Using the method and implementation architecture, product data integration between heterogeneous CAD and its follow-up systems can be easily realized through STEP physical file and STEP information exchange interface.
