Multi-phase synchronous-boost converter solutions for portable applications

摘要

With the increasing current demand in many portable and point-of-load step-up applications, multiphase synchronous boost converters present ideal solutions to achieving high efficiency, low output ripple and minimum size. This paper discusses the advantages of multiphase synchronous boost topology. It also addresses the important technical issues in the boost applications, such as low inrush current, output disconnect during shutdown, and short-circuit protection.
