There are non-technical factors that were excluded from the analysis. Mobile phones can have a multitude of ringing tones, and some of them could be confused with acoustic signals from medical equipment. Patients may be disturbed by conversations around them. Such factors must be considered in a complete analysis. Nevertheless, the analysis has shown that it is possible to allow use of mobile phones in delimited areas of a hospital. A categorical ban on mobile phones in hospitals is certainly not justified.
