New directions for efficiency enhancement and power scaling of Nd lasers

摘要

The paper discusses some directions for improvement of efficiency and power scaling of Nd lasers: (1) the direct pmping into the emitting level ~4F_(3/2); (2) the use of concentrated Nd laser materials; (3) new laser materials, particularly ceramic materials; (4) advanced laser resonator design.
